Prayer Requests

This page has been created to allow you to show care and concern for your fellow classmates.  Prayers will be appreciated for those classmates and their family who are having difficulties.  A card or a note of encouragement could even lighten their day.

Update – Helen Sherry

Helen’s care team believes she has entered a healing phase. They believe her serious eye infection has resolved, although continued vigilance is needed. Her migraines have dissipated and other pain that she was experiencing has diminished as well. This is very good news.

Your thoughts and prayers for her continued recovery will be meaningful.

DECEMBER 2022

Please pray for a complete recovery of vision for our classmate, Helen Sherry. Helen experienced severe (single) eye trauma a few weeks ago that was closely followed by an infection that has not yet responded to treatment. She’s experiencing pain, including migraines. Her recovery is uncertain. Helen is a spiritual person. Your thoughts and prayers for her recovery will be meaningful. My best to each of you. John Schmelzer

DECEMBER 2020

THIS CHRISTMAS PLEASE PRAY THAT THE NEW YEAR BRINGS PEACE AND COMFORT TO US ALL.   SOME OF OUR CLASSMATES HAVE LOST A PERSON VERY DEAR TO THEM  ~ A PARENT , A SPOUSE,  A SIBLING,  A FRIEND.

WE ALSO HAVE LOST OUR SENSE OF SECURITY AND FREEDOM DUE TO THE COVID VIRUS. WE  WORRY ABOUT THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY...OUR OWN HEALTH, AT OUR AGE, HAS BECOME AN ISSUE TOO!  HAVE FAITH THAT OUR PRAYERS WILL BE HEARD.  WHEN WE MOST NEED IT, PRAYERS WILL LIFT OUR HEARTS AND FILL IT WITH PEACE.

LASTLY, PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ALL WHO ARE AFFECTED BY THIS PANDEMIC.  THOSE WHO WERE INFECTED, THEIR FAMILIES, AND THE CAREGIVERS WHO HAVE WORKED UNSELFISHLY OVER THESE PAST SEVEN MONTHS.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

Julie (Lyons) MIller has had a few trips to the hospital in the last week after several falls.  Tests have been performed but no definite diagnosis as of yet.  She is unsteady on her feet and just is not feeling well. She welcomes prayers for healing and for her safety.

Ellen (DeTemple) Voltolini's brother, Jerry DeTemple, is having complications from Parkinson disease.  He also has fallen recentley at a nursing facility which resulted in a broken hip.  He is in the Dublin Hospital and has tested  positive with COVID-19.  Please keep Jerry and his extended family in your prayers.

No one could have expected all the deaths and hardships that the world is still experiencing  from this pandemic.  By letting God know our concerns we show Him that we do believe.  Ask Him to give strength to our bodies, our hearts, and our minds.  To Bless all of those people who work unselfishly to heal and help those affected by the virus.  To Bless those who are providing safety for our country. To Bless all who work because their jobs are considered essential.  Pray that there will soon be a vaccine to eradicate this respiratory illness.

NOVEMBER 2019

Please extend your sympathy and prayers to the family of Dave Monfort.  His brother, Charles Monfort, passed away on November 19th.  Visitation will be Monday, November 25 from 4-7pm at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High St. The memorial service will be held at 10am Tuesday, November 26, at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Powell, Ohio.

It has been a difficult month for a lot of our classmates, especially dealing with the illness and loss of our dear Bill Scholl.  It has weighed heavy on our hearts.  Please know how much Bill loved his classmates and reveled in uniting us whenever he could.  Memories of love and friendship are true treasures, carry them always in your heart.

May Dave find comfort and peace in the memories and loved shared with both of his brothers...Chuck and Bill Scholl.

If you’d like to send a card to Bill & Carla, their addresses are below.

Bill Scholl, 6455 Steitz Rd, Powell, OH 43065

She and her husband have relocated to Cleveland Ohio.

MAY 2019

I have heard from several class members that they are experiencing health issues.   Especially remember Bill Scholl and Guido Boggioni  -  please pray for their quick and total recovery.  As your prayers go out, perhaps you would include all of the Class of '65.  Each and every one of us could use a little "help".    Thank you.

Please remember in your prayers Linda (McClung) Huhn as she makes her transition.  Linda passed away on February 4, 2019.  Also remember Bob, their children, and grandchildren in sympathy and in prayer.  May they find comfort, peace and strength during this sorrowful time.

JANUARY 2018

We recently heard that Maryann Marcinko (Keckley) is now residing in a nursing home as she suffers from the effects of "PLS" (Primary lateral sclerosis). She is unable to walk or to speak. Maryann spent her grade school years at Holy Name and left Watterson to finish her senior year at Hartley. Her heart has always been with her classmates from both schools.  She attended most of the reunions for Watterson and  Holy Name.  Please think of her in your prayers and  take a moment a write her a note - her family said she loves to get mail.
